This tour of 2 nights and 3 days encompasses a visit to only two cities- Delhi, and Agra. Begin with the sightseeing tour of Delhi and cover key tourist hotspots like Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Humayun's Tomb. Once you are done seeing Delhi tourist places you can leave for Agra.
Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
The tour representative will meet you at the airport or the railway station or where ever you are in the capital. A Govt approved tour guide will accompany you during the first half of the day. You will visit different tourist places in the capital. First, visit JamaMasjid which is one of the biggest mosques in the coluntry built by Mughal ruler Shahjahan.
Then you can proceed to visit Red Fort which is also referred to as Lal Quila. Every 15th August the tri-colour is hoisted here by the Prime Minister of our country. You must also visit Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar as both of these are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Once you are done seeing all these tourist spots you can leave for Agra in a prepaid taxi. Yamuna Expressway has made this journey so convenient and within 3 hours you will be in Agra. Overnight stay is in a hotel in Agra.
Day 2: Agra Sightseeing
In the morning you will go to see the sunrise view of the Taj Mahal. This white marble monument is like a dream on banks of River Yamuna. It was built by Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Its beauty is surreal. You have to buy a separate ticket to enter the mausoleum. Once you are done seeing Taj Mahal you can proceed to visit Agra Fort which is built in red sandstone.
It was the residence of Mughal rulers for a very long time. No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the fort premises. You can do some souvenir shopping at the bazaars in Agra. Enjoy a lovely Mughlai dinner at any of the popular eating joints in the city. Overnight stay is in a hotel in Agra.
Day 3: Agra to Delhi
In the morning you can visit the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah. This is also known as Baby Taj or Jewel Box. By lunchtime, you can leave back for Delhi. If you do not get stuck in traffic and the weather is congenial you will be able to reach Delhi on time.
On reaching Delhi in case there is still time on hand, you must go and see the Akshardham Temple. This temple has brilliant architecture. Later on, you can leave for the Indira Gandhi airport to catch a flight for your onward destination.
